Athletes, fans slam Donald Trump for insulting LeBron James

The president's endorsement of basketball star Michael Jordan was perhaps a reference to the long-standing debate over whether Jordan or James is the better all-time player.

'LeBron puts children through school.

But Conway, who had a strong media profile before joining Trump's campaign in 2016 and joining him in the White House, took the opportunity to put her views on the record Sunday, while being careful not to openly criticize the President.

Noah pointed out that Trump has had disputes with U.S. Reps.

Along with Jordan, a number of other athletes spoke out in support of James.

"Anyone that's done what LeBron James has done for the past decade to 15 years for our children to prepare them to flourish in life has to be an intelligent person", Akron Public Schools spokesman Mark Williamson said in a telephone interview on Monday.

"Trump has only called Don Lemon & Lebron James "dumb" and he repeatedly refers to Maxine Waters as 'low IQ",' one man wrote. "I like Mike", Trump tweeted, sparking immediate outrage from Hollywood and beyond.

Some also speculated Trump's attack came as LeBron had moved to California, which is not a swing state like OH, where he previously lived, unscathed by the President's wrath.

"I think if we can learn to ignore or not respond to stuff like that - if we can - it takes away the power of statements like that". According to Deadline, Shut Up and Dribble is specifically about exploring "the changing role of athletes in our fraught cultural and political environment, through the lens of the National Basketball Association".

'When you're part of sports, it brings so much camaraderie and so much fun. Most of America, anyway. "Millions elected Trump to be their coach. That's not something I can relate to because I know that sport was the first time I was ever around someone white". Asked what he would say to Trump if he were sitting across from him, James replied, "I would never sit across from him". He added that "This president constantly denigrates people of color and women".

The focus of the school is to provide support for the students and their families.

James commented on Trump during the exchange with Lemon, stating that he would not sit down with the president and arguing that Trump has attacked athletes as a way to divide Americans.

"So let me get this straight: Flint, Missouri, has dirty water still, but you anxious about an interview about a man doing good for education and generations of kids in his hometown?" he asked the president on Twitter.
