Odds Fall Drastically On Centre Back Joining Manchester United

Jose Mourinho has signed three new players so far during the summer window with goalkeeper Lee Grant, right-back Diogo Dalot and midfielder Fred all arriving in recent weeks but the United boss knows he needs to further strengthen in order to compete with Manchester City next season.

Leicester will improve Maguire's wages to around £75,000 in a bid to tie him down for another season but the Foxes are wary he could depart.

Maguire impressed for England at the World Cup this summer.

Claude Puel has considered potential replacements regardless with Barcelona's Yerry Mina and Gary Cahill both discussed.

Maguire continued to forge a reputation as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League last season and he carried that form in to the World Cup as he was one of England's star performers en route to their semi-final appearance in Russian Federation.

The French frontman impressed for the Red Devils in their opening game of their United States tour (a 1-1 draw with Club America in Phoenix), and Mourinho hasn't given up on the 22-year-old despite his inconsistency in the past.

Though the Argentine isn't an indispensable player, it is a little unusual to hear Jose is willing to move him on since he was solid at times for the club in the season before last.

But there comes a warning in The Sun, who claim that Bayern Munich and Chelsea are now circling Martial with a view to making a summer swoop.

However, ESPN also claimed that Mourinho would be happy to let Martial go, though he may have to persuade United's Executive Vice-Chairman, Ed Woodward, who is supposedly leaning towards keeping the France worldwide.
