The district and sessions court heard arguments on the suspension of sentence and bail application before deferring the matter till Saturday.
Mr. Khan's lawyer Anand Desai said in a statement to the press that they "respect the decision" of the court. As per an order, judges have been asked to join from immediate effect.
Additionally, Dev Kumar Khatri, the judge who sentenced Salman to five year's jail term, has also been transferred.
Animal rights activists welcomed the court's decision of sentencing Salman Khan and demanded maximum punishment for the actor in the blackbuck poaching case. However, the judge reserved his verdict on the petition, which means that Salman, who had spent Thursday night in jail, will have to also spend Friday night, at least, in jail.
Salman Khan's 51-page bail plea has to wait for now. Later the same night, he was among the 87 judicial officers who were transferred in what was described as a routine administrative measure. He has been transferred from Jodhpur to Siroh. Judge Joshi, who has begun hearing the case today, will now be replaced by Chandra Kumar Songara, district and sessions judge of Bhilwara, reported NDTV.
Khan will stay in jail today, after the Jodhpur Sessions Court delayed the order on the actor's bail plea till Saturday.
After hearing arguments from both parties, the judge said the evidence in this case was strong and the decision can not be made in hasty and reserved the judgment on the bail petition.

Media's extraordinary attention to Salman's blackbuck poaching case has got mixed reactions.
Bora argued that the trial court relied on eyewitness Poonam Chand Bishnoi (PW-4), whose statements were not reliable. Many celebs even visited him in the jail in Jodhpur.
However, Mr. Joshi is likely to continue the hearing in Khan's case.
Meanwhile, the Bollywood star's sisters, Alvira and Arpita, met him in the jail.
The first one was Preity Zinta, Salman's co-star in seven films between 2000 and 2013.
