The new Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 smartphone is available on the Samsung India website at a price tag of INR 13990/-.

Samsung's India website shows a price of INR 13,990 (~US$215) for the new phone, but it is now "sold out". Otherwise if Note 9 repositioned fingerprint sensor as Samsung did on the S9, then there should not need to be too upset about it.

The premium end of town in the smartphone market is fast becoming a Samsung device according to retailers and the holy grail is set to be the all new Samsung Note 9 which is tipped to come later this year with a new in display fingerprint reader.

The bigger S9+ sports 12-megapixel dual rear camera where one is similar to S9's and the second camera does not have variable aperture feature instead it is used for clicking images in Portrait mode (Live Focus). While the 256GB internal storage variants of the S9 and S9+ cost Rs 65,900 and Rs 72,900 respectively.

Going through Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 specifications, it's a mid-range phone introduces Samsung Mall and brings Samsung Pay Mini feature to mid-range handsets. Both the phones are powered by an octa-core (with support for Gigabit LTE) Exynos 9810 processor. The screen has Full-HD resolution (1080×1920 pixels), resulting in an aspect ratio of 16:9. On the front side, both the devices feature an 8-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. Connectivity options on the Galaxy J7 prime 2 include 4G, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, Glonass, Beidou, Wi-Fi Direct, a 3.5mm headset jack and a USB 2.0 charging port. The front camera is also 13MP. The smartphone comes packed with a 3300mAh battery capacity.

Businesses can also consider an enterprise version of the new phone, which comes with Knox technology for simpler device provisioning and added security.

The new Samsung J7 Prime 2 is revealed in black color but it is expected to come in champagne gold as well.
