Time to end the madness called, "Daylight Saving Time"

Time to end the madness called,

Florida's daylight savings time could become the state's permanent time on Sunday as most of the rest of country temporarily leaps forward one hour - if Gov. Rick Scott signs the bill sitting on his desk.

The twice-a-year tradition of changing time - springing forward and falling backward - is back again, despite some Texas lawmakers' efforts to end it. During Daylight Saving Time, more people travel to and from school and work and complete errands during the daylight.

Supporters noted that some studies suggest that daylight saving time changes can lead to an increase in heart attacks and vehicle accidents. If you're feeling sleepy, short afternoon naps are recommended for a few days after the time change until the body adjusts.

Urban legend says the use of Daylight Savings Time helps farmers, but in reality, cows and chickens don't care what the clock says.

That's right, you lose an hour of sleep this weekend. "So, we'd just do away with moving the clocks".

Our sleep cycle is impacted by our appetite, so try eating earlier if you want extra shut-eye before the start of Daylight Saving Time.

The United States began using Daylight Saving on March 31, 1918 as a wartime measure but was repealed in 1919. By advocating for daylight saving time, he did not practice what he preached of "early to bed, early to rise".

However, Florida loves itself some daylights saving time.

Florida's Senate voted 32-2 to extend Daylight Saving Time (DST) year round, following a similar vote to extend by the Florida House, 103-11, on February 14, CNN reported. Hawaii, Arizona and several USA territories including Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands do not observe Daylight Saving Time, according to the NIST.

If state lawmakers had chosen to end daylight saving time - a move thousands of Texans indicated they supported - the Lone Star State would have joined a tiny group.
