Error Unmasks Person of Interest in Vegas Attack

Haig said on "CBS This Morning" on Wednesday, that he sold more than 700 rounds of ammunition to Paddock, but had no connection to the man and had no idea what he was planning. The official spoke anonymously because they weren't authorized to disclose case information. The profile also says he runs a company called Specialized Military Ammunition. However, the website has now been closed for an indefinite period.

#JudgeTimothyWilliams rules autopsy reports are a public record in hearing on a petition from LVRJ & AP for the Coroner to provide records related to #1October. "I handed him a box with the ammunition in it and he paid me and he left", Haig told CBS This Morning in an interview aired in the United States on Wednesday.

"They asked me a bunch of questions", Haig told the magazine in an interview that wasn't published until Tuesday.

He says, he first learned of Paddock at a gun show in Las Vegas when Paddock approached his booth and talked to another worker saying he wanted to put a deal together.

Attempts to reach Haig at his Arizona home and by phone were unsuccessful.

The identity of the man, Douglas Haig, has not been previously reported.

Cadish later ordered the full document not be published without redactions, but she acknowledged she couldn't order the newspaper to retract the name.

Haig did not respond to CNN calls Tuesday evening.

The other person of interest identified in the search warrant records is Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley. She noted that there is still an ongoing investigation regarding one other individual connected with the shooting.

Lombardo also said he did not anticipate Danley facing any criminal charges.

An FBI spokeswoman said she could not immediately comment Tuesday. While the documents did not reveal any details about the suspects in the case, one of the pages revealed Haig's name.

The Associated Press and the Las Vegas Review-Journal have requested the autopsy records for both Stephen Paddock and all 58 victims of the 1 October shooting.

However, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo released a preliminary report on January 19 saying police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation believe Paddock acted alone before he killed himself as police closed in.

The records were obtained after media organizations including The Associated Press sued to unseal court records and autopsy reports.

Court officials are redacting the warrant records in preparation for release later Tuesday.

Lombardo has said he expects a final report on the shooting to be released before the end of 2018. The coroner and county attorneys didn't immediately say whether they would appeal Williams' ruling to the Nevada Supreme Court.
