Kim Kardashian Shares Daughter's Nickname in New Tweet

The long-awaited reveal of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's new daughter's name spawned mixed reactions - and a lot of jokes - on social media.

The baby sister of North, 4-and-a-half, and Saint, 2, was born on Tuesday, with Kardashian writing on her website, "Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, lovely baby girl".

Kim's sister Khloé, who is now pregnant with her first child, was quick to praise the name, revealing to her 25 million followers that she "loved" it."I LOOOOOOOOOOVE her name  hey Chi (shy)", the proud auntie said. Their first-born, daughter North "Nori" West, was born in 2013, with son Saint West following in 2015.

The baby weighed in at seven pounds and six ounces.

Kardashian West's fertilized egg had been implanted into a surrogate, who gave birth to the child.

Kardashian West said that not carrying the child herself was "so hard", but that the couple had an instant connection with her.

Some Twitter users had guessed that the baby 6 may be called Chicago, as that is where West is from.

The hashtag #BabyWest trended on Twitter in the U.S.by late afternoon Friday, with Kardashian West tweeting out the nickname Chi.

She continued: "Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, attractive baby girl".

She also retweeted a fan who correctly deduced the pronunciation of the newborn's nickname.

Several Chicago sports teams also reacted to the news, including the White Sox, who shared a photo of their name using the same font Kardashian employed to announce the name. "If they want to name kids, they need to go have some and get to naming them It's nobody's business what Kim and Kanye name THEIR KIDS!" The already famous child's name is Chicago West. He has a deep love for the city and apparently that love spans great and wide enough to now become the name of his newest child.

"Khloe's really cool. I think her and her guy are going to find a really cool name", Boice said.
