Lady Gaga set for Las Vegas residency

Las Vegas residencies have become a popular draw for top music stars because they allow performers to remain in one place and draw large crowd without the rigors of touring. "I will have my own residency in Las Vegas", she wrote on the social media site.

Lady Gaga recently had to cancel the European leg of her "Joanne" tour because of issues with chronic pain due to fibromyalgia. Check out her announcement tweet below.

The 31-year-old entertainer confirmed the news herself after rumors spread that she would be doing a Vegas show at the Park Theater at Park MGM.

Gaga's residency at MGM's Park Theater in the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino in Vegas puts her in the company of Cher and Bruno Mars, who also have shows at the venue.

As far as how much Lady Gaga will get paid for this residency, the LVRJ says it's a lot less than the rumors that have been circulating online.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper, Gaga is set to earn around $400,000 per performance, but a source familiar with her contract told the publication some claims she is in line for $100 million for 60 shows are "way, way, way, off".

"I'm excited someday to do that", she told Mix 94.1-FM morning show hosts Mercedes Martinez and JC Fernandez in January, days before her Super Bowl LI halftime show performance. "It has been a life-long dream of mine to play Las Vegas", Gaga said in a news release. I'll leave my heart on the stage every single night. "I'm a real old-fashioned girl".

She wrote: "Thank you @sakspotts for this dope jacket and @pollyplume for the attractive sparkly boots".
