Apple is said to plan 2018 IPad redesign with facial recognition

Say goodbye to bezels and home buttons where all Apple devices are concerned as the company looks set to release a new iPad X, much like the iPhone X.

The company plans to ditch the device's home button and will instead incorporate the new Face ID system now found on the iPhone X. The company's now concentrating on an iPad of "similar size" to the current 10.5-inch Pro.

But unlike the iPhone X, Bloomberg reports that the iPad in question won't have an OLED display, which provides greater clarity and more vivid colors than typical LCDs.

Apple is reportedly redesigning its iPad Pro series that will be ready to launch next year. Other than that, the iPhone maker is also working on a new version of its Apple Pencil stylus as well as new software tools for using the stylus. A Samsung Display operation executive told Bloomberg that the South Korean tech firm has the ability to mass produce OLED screens for iPad models in 2018. Given that the new iPad model is about a year away from release, the plans could change due to supply and manufacturing constraints on Face ID components, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the plans aren't public.

The removal of the home button means that the next iPad might also employ gestures for navigation. It would be the first major revamp of the iPad's design since iPad Pro hit the shelves in 2015.

However, an OLED display is unlikely to be on the new iPad. The rumours come after Apple posted a significant growth in iPad sales over the fourth quarter, giving the range a 14 percent revenue boost.

Apple still thinks the iPad is the future of mainstream computing.

The new iPad could be available as early as next year, with all these newly fitted features. Although this information is not accurate, because Apple only a year ago introduced a model, which all users are delighted, because the quality of the image.
