Seldom used 'i' mangled by baffling autocorrect bug in Apple's iOS 11

An iPhone glitch is causing frustration with Apple users.

Apple has not yet released a software update to fix the bug, but they have a suggestion for frustrated "A?" phone users.

When users get paid, they receive the money in a new Apple Pay Cash card in Apple Wallet and can then use the money instantly.

Costs the same: Apple Pay Cash costs the same as Square Cash and Venmo; it's free to send money using a debit card and costs 3% of the transfer amount if you use a credit card.

"We are aware of this autocorrect bug", an Apple spokesperson told The Register via email. "We know you knew what would happen with this update @Apple@AppleSupport" took center-stage on Twitter.

Some iPhone and iPad users are facing a weird bug after updating to iOS 11.1. There's no fee to use Apple Pay Cash with a debit card.

Of course, you can request in kind money from friends, family or anyone else you're are communicating with in an iMessage.

You'll need to be running the second beta of whichever OS you're using (iOS 11.2 or watchOS 4.2), and that includes the iOS public beta. How so? Inside the Messages app, tap the App Store for iMessages symbol, and then tap the Apple Pay icon.

However, the company is recommending a workaround fix until the software update is released.

You can send or receive a minimum payment of $1 per message.

Most of the features should make it into the final iOS 11.2 release though Apple could hold some back for additional testing if needed.
