Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro Porsche design unveiled

To conclude, both Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro are a true flagship class smartphone with premium craftsmanship. Up front, there is a 13-megapixel shooter and another 2MP camera, also working together.

The Huawei Mate 10 will be retailed at a price tag of approximately Rs 53,400 and is slated to go on sale from November. The most interesting feature on the Huawei Mate 10 is the desktop mode which has been copied from Windows 10 Mobile. All the three of them are powered by Kirin 970 SoC which comes with dedicated AI processing unit named as NPU (Neural Processing Unit). It also features an external storage slot for adding a microSD card.

Both smartphones are running Huawei's in-house Kirin 970 made on the 10nm FinFET architecture. Not to forget, the 5.5-inch display has a sharp 2560 x 1440 resolution, while the dual rear camera is among no slouch, either.

Similar to Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro sports dual-lens cameras on the rear, 12-megapixel and 20-megapixel monochrome sensors with f/1.6 + f/1.6 apertures.

When it comes to storage, Mate 10 conceals 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage, whereas Mate 10 Pro gets 6 gigs of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The displays on both these smartphones feature HDR10 support. The fingerprint sensor is below the cameras on the Mate 10 Pro and Porsche Design, but it comes below the display on the regular Mate 10. The storage on the Mate 10 can be further expanded up to 256GB, unlike on the Mate 10 Pro. Well, guess what? The smartphone has just gone official in Europe as well as in China.

Huawei uses Google's Android operating system rather than keeping the same tight control over hardware, operating system and third-party apps as Apple.

The AI chipset was launched earlier this year.

The NPU from Huawei can handle AI tasks like a real-time computer vision and image recognition & sorting. It might be able to do things most smartphones can't do but now it is used very sparingly.

Both devices will also be arriving in four color options, with the Mate 10 incoming with a brown, pink gold, gold, and black version, while the Mate 10 Pro will be available in brown, pink gold, grey, and blue.

Not long ago, Huawei had overtaken Apple to become the world's second-largest smartphone maker.
