Nancy Pelosi shouted down by DREAMers in San Francisco

Pelosi this week was heckled by immigration reform advocates who accused the Democrats of abandoning millions of undocumented immigrants with their decision to prioritize protections for the so-called Dreamers, who number fewer than 800,000. "We have to save the Dreamers now", Pelosi said at a news conference at the Capitol. Barbara Lee and Jared Huffman, was expected to call for the immediate passage of the Dream Act, a federal proposal that was never approved by Congress but offered numerous same protections as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA. DACA provides a work permit and temporary reprieve from deportation for youth brought to the U.S.as children without legal permission, if they meet certain criteria.

A new poll shows that only 35% of likely USA voters think it's likely comprehensive immigration reform legislation will pass the Senate and House and be signed by President Trump in the next six months. But when they interrupted again, she shouted "Just stop it now!"

Here Pelosi calls the protesters "ridiculous", while they chant loudly in the background. "Pelosi moved forward with the negotiation (with Trump) without consulting immigrant youth and community members who have been frustrated by her lack of support for immigrant justice in California".

We remember all too well how for eight years the Democrats laid siege to our communities, raiding and deporting almost three million people, of our family members and loved ones.

The second speaker closed by calling on all undocumented immigrants to unite against the deportation policies of Trump and the Democrats, saying, "We send a clear message to our fellow undocumented youth and communities: We are the resistance to Trump!"

"We need to have a conversation, but that was completely one-sided", Pelosi told reporters at the time. But the shouting did not stop. Dianne Feinstein, also of San Francisco, was booed after she called for patience in dealing with Trump, saying she hoped he would change for the better.

'You've had your say, and it's lovely, ' she said, but 'you don't know what you're taking about'.

"You don't know what you're taking about", a visibly upset Pelosi responded.

They were demanding that Pelosi take up a "clean" DREAM Act in which the Dreamers receive protection, but without any of the border security Trump seeks - likely a political impossibility. Many of Trump's most passionate supporters revolted after a report claimed the administration had struck a deal with Democrats that would make DACA the law of the land. They don't want any answers'.

I was driving my son to a baseball game this weekend and wound up behind a pickup truck featuring a "Fire Nancy Pelosi" bumper sticker. She says it does not matter whether or not she and Trump like each other.

More than a dozen states from ME to California have sued over the administration's decision to phase out the program, alleging similar constitutional violations.

Both press events were scheduled by Pelosi to discuss a legislative fix to help thousands of young people affected by President Trump's decision to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
