IOS 11 leak reveals 10th-anniversary iPhone will be called iPhone X

Not only these, Apple is expected to launch a new variant which can be the iPhone 10, iPhone X, iPhone Edition or iPhone Pro.

Another zany new development is Animoji, which are apparently 3D-generated emojis which will sync with facial tracking to create customised expressions.

The Face ID feature will be the official name of iPhone 8's face recognition technology. With everyone looking forward to Apple's event on Tuesday, here are a few things that are expected to happen alongside the launching of the new iPhone 8.

CBC News will report from the unveiling at Apple's new spaceship-shaped campus, Apple Park, in Cupertino, Calif. One is called Portrait Lighting, which will simulate different lighting effects like Natural Light, Stage Light, Stage Light Mono, and Studio Light when using the Portrait mode on compatible iPhones. For these two smartphones, it is being claimed that the company will launch them with the similar design as that of the iPhone 7 Plus and the iPhone 7 and will comprise LCD screens in them.

Photography enthusiasts have a lot to cheer about as the forthcoming flagship iPhone's video recording resolution and capture speeds look impressive. If the leaked info is right, the camera can shoot in 1080p HD at 240fps, 4K at 24fps and 4K at 60fps.

Physically, it's expected to be about the same size as an iPhone 7, but with an edge-to-edge OLED display that's bigger than what is now on the iPhone 7 Plus.

The folks at 9To5Mac have procured a copy of this build for testing and have discovered a bunch of secret features, including a vibrant set of new wallpapers, a preview image of the LTE Apple Watch and the complete list of confirmed features coming to the next-gen OLED iPhone.

A leaked animation (seen above) shows off the new design and the headphones look almost identical to the previous version of the AirPods. It appears the front camera, speaker and sensors will be placed at the top of the display. The iOS 11 GM also corroborates that leak.

Finally, Apple is likely going to show off a new set of AirPods. At the same time, these instructions underscore the design changes Apple is making to the iPhone 8's display-notice the thin bezels and lack of a physical home button. So the next logical question is where will the Touch ID or as we know it the fingerprint scanner go? Apple could add touch ID on the rear panel, but it chose to drop it. Double-clicking it apparently opens up Apple Pay cards and pressing and holding it appears to invoke Siri.
