Twitter Goes Crazy as West Indies Stun England to Win 2nd Test

Hope, who became the first batsman in history to score two centuries in each innings of a first-class game at Headingley, was brilliantly supported by opening batsman Kraigg Brathwaite, who scored a magnificent 95.

The West Indies, set a seemingly imposing 322 for victory, finished on 322 for five with 28 balls to spare.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan will not be the only one to eat a slice following the Windies' shock win.

The Caribbean men produced a masterful run chase to beat the English men by five wickets in an exciting clash.

Before this match, only one side had made more in the fourth innings to win a Test at Headingley, with Australia's celebrated "Invincibles" scoring 404 for three at the Leeds ground in 1948.

West Indies, hopeful at tea of pushing for a first test victory in England since 2000, was completely demoralized at stumps. We would have had a tiresome day with only one side going for a win.

But it was not until the stroke of tea that Windies lost their third wicket when Brathwaite edged Moeen Ali to Stokes at slip.

Windies resumed on 5-0, needing another 317, and enjoyed an early reprieve when Alastair Cook dropped Brathwaite on four at slip off Stuart Broad - England's fourth missed chance of the Test and the 11th overall.

Brathwaite s 180-ball innings, including 12 fours, meant the opener had batted for more than 10 hours in the match.

Their nerves were settled somewhat when Chase was caught brilliantly by substitute fielder Mason Crane, diving away to his left, at mid-on off Woakes. England then took the new ball with Windies 266 for 4 off 80 overs and gave it to Anderson.

Hope came highly-recommended from the Caribbean - although an average of 18.61 prior to this Test is hardly a ringing endorsement. Jermaine Blackwood, on the other hand, wanted to win in the grand manner, shed off his helmet in an act of defiance and charged down the pitch. Soon after, Hope reached his hundred and the pair carried on without much fuss - although Blackwood hit Broad for another six - to within two runs of victory when Blackwood tried to finish it in style off Moeen but was stumped for 41.
