Lendl confident in Murray's fitness

Should he play, the two-time Wimbledon champion would be set for a heavily challenging campaign at The Championships.

World No 1 Murray cancelled a second exhibition game at London's Hurlingham Club after being warned by his medical team to rest his sore hip.

Andy Murray was seen to struggle during a practice session just days before he is due to begin his Wimbledon title defence.

1pm: An injured Andy Murray has got a kind draw and bookmaker William Hill has pushed out the price of him being knocked out in the first round from 8/1 to 10/1.

Lendl added that Murray is "hitting the ball really well" and that he's satisfied by Murray's performance in practice.

But when asked if he was OK, Murray told Sunsport with a smile: "I haven't tested it yet".

"Sadly I won't be ready to play at Hurlingham on Friday, my hip is still sore and I need to rest it today and likely tomorrow", Sport24 quoted Murray as saying. "I'm very pleased with the two weeks we had", said Lendl, who explained that Murray had practised with Denis Shapovalov and Grigor Dimitrov at the start of the week.

"I don't care how good you are".

However, his coach Lendl insists he is "not at all" anxious about the injury and has been pleased by Murray's preparations for Wimbledon. "If I play like that, I certainly won't win Wimbledon".

French Open semi-finalist Murray was the favourite to win the Aegon Championships, which finished on Sunday, and win a third successive Queen's Club crown but crashed at the first hurdle.
