CARS in 2006 wasn't Pixar's best, in fact, even as a kid I could tell it wasn't a great movie.

Cars 3 won this weekend's box office with a whopping $57.2 million debut. Wonder Woman fell to second in its third weekend, making $40.7 million.

As for the rest of the debuts, All Eyez on Me collected $27 million, landing in third place.

This weekend featured a heated race between four new films that opened in wide release.

The movie comes from director Brian Fee, who was a storyboard artist on the first two "Cars" films, as well as "Ratatouille" and "Wall-E".

The third installment in Pixar's Cars franchise featuring Lightning McQueen and his longtime friends fighting off a challenge from a new generation of racers is voiced by stars including Owen Wilson, Cristela Alonzo, and Armie Hammer.

Interest in Cars 3 may soon change thanks to positive feedback the animated movie has been receiving from both critics and audiences. Dergarabedian said. "Before "Wonder Woman" we were about 9 percent behind last summer".

47 Meters Down settled for fifth with $11.5 million. Meanwhile, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 dropped to ninth-place earning $5 million, bringing its seven-week total to $374.9 million.

The raunchy comedy "Rough Night" got off to a rough start in seventh place. The film, about a bachelorette party weekend gone wrong, starring Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon and Jillian Bell, took in a paltry $8.1 million against a $20 million production budget.

Tom Cruise's "The Mummy" will follow at the fourth spot for the weekend with an estimated $14 million for a domestic total of $56 million-plus through Sunday.
