MLB Draft: how to watch & stream tonight through Wednesday

The Orioles began the second day of the 2017 major league baseball draft the same way they did previous year - with a third-round pick out of the University of Jacksonville.

The Orioles may have landed a gem in the 18-year-old Hall.

Utah's Andre Jackson was selected in the 12th round (No. 370 overall) by the Los Angeles Dodgers, which also drafted Ute teammate Riley Otteson with the No. 160 pick in the fifth round Tuesday. The MLB Draft's split between high school and college selections during the opening rounds generally fluctuates over the years, and the pendulum seems to be swinging toward the high schoolers again, at least with the draft's highest picks.

For the first time in 10 years, Gwinnett County has been shut out through the first two days of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

Right-handed pitcher Ryan Nutof went in the 16th round, No. 467 overall to the Cincinnati Reds.

Hall blazing speed is what placed him No. 36 in Baseball America's 2017 Top 100 MLB Draft Prospects and No. 99 overall in their BA 500.

And then to the surprise of just about everyone, the Orioles passed on star UNC shortstop Logan Warmoth and star Vanderbilt outfielder Jeren Kendall to take D.L. Hall, a left-handed pitcher out of Valdosta High School (GA).

Hall, who is about to graduate from A.B. Lucas in London, verbally committed in grade 10 to play for Texas A&M and signed a scholarship offer last September. He struck out 20 in 20 2/3 innings, giving up 19 hits and holding batters to a.247 average. The only person that's happy in the draft is the person that goes first overall. The 6-foot-2 junior from Spanish Fork High went No. 1,029 to Toronto after going 7-7 as a starter in 2017 with a 6.01 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 88 1/3 innings.

Logan Warmoth, SS (#22): After not being drafted in high school, Warmoth improved dramatically in only three seasons at the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill, earning the reputation as the top college shortstop in the draft. The 2016 season saw Giarratano win the 2016 WCC Defensive Player of the Year.

Garcia's brother, Oscar, was drafted in 2010 as well out of Americas High School.
