Santa Clara, Calif. -based Intel announced an expanded partnership with ESL, the world's largest e-sports company. In addition to the $1,000,000 prize awarded to the first team that can win four out of the last ten $200,000 events held between DreamHack and ESL, there is something to sweeten the pot for other teams.

Intel with Ready At Dawn Studios to release "Echo Arena" as a free, three-month download to Oculus Rift users starting on July 20.

Intel said that 46 million people watched its Intel Extreme Masters esports event past year, and competitive gaming and streaming are both focuses for its hardware moving forward.

ESL recently wrapped up their fifth season of the ESL Pro League at Dallas, Texas which saw G2 Esports take the win in ESL's latest premier level tournament. This year's Intel Extreme Masters finals racked up 46 million online viewers, making it the most watched esports tournament in ESL history.

Global chipmaker Intel on Monday demonstrated new games and technology and revealed new plans to improve the PC gaming and virtual reality (VR) experiences at the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) here. The 4- to 10-core processors will be available for pre-order beginning on June 19 and will start shipping to consumers the following week. Availability for the rest of the chip family will soon follow.

Intel will provide all of the gaming PCs to each player and team, with Senior VP and General Manager of the Client Computing Group at Intel, Gregory Bryant, saying: "Intel's involvement in esports and the gaming community has spanned more than 15 years, and we're always looking for ways to take the player and fan experience to the next level".
