Summerhays takes advantage of Dufner collapse at Memorial

Dufner, a Northeast Ohio native and 2013 PGA Championship victor, shot 65-65 for 14-under through two rounds.

Perth native Greg Chalmers shot a 68 to take a one-under total, while Cameron Smith (71) and Rod Pampling (73) finished at one-over.

NOTES: Four players on the PGA Tour have held at least a five-shot lead after 36 holes the past two seasons. He capped off his day by pulling his tee shot into the water and making another bogey.

"We got to spend a decent amount of time together and that was fun", Fowler said. "He had two fantastic days".

"Everything", the 2013 PGA Championship victor said, when asked what he had done well. "I really struggled with this golf course".

Dustin Johnson didn't make any birdies. Coming off a 78 - his first round without a birdie in almost four years - Johnson couldn't get anything going and shot 74 to miss the cut by five shots. "I'd a lot of fairways, a lot of greens and threw in a few birdies and tried not to fall too far behind Duf", he said.

After Lingmerth had set the pace in OH with eight birdies and an eagle in his 65, Dufner launched his bid for a fifth PGA Tour title by covering the front nine in 31. With a back left pin, the shot fit what he was trying to do, and he said the bonus was that it found the bottom of the cup. "Even if it doesn't shake out how I want to [Sunday], I think I'll be like, 'Oh, where's the next hole I need to go play? It's tough to change".

Lingmerth, a playoff victor over Justin Rose in 2015, got his name on the board quickly with four straight birdies on the front nine to turn in 31, and then he hit a 3-wood to 6 feet on the par-5 15th for an eagle.

The South Korea-born New Zealander is not playing this week's ShopRite LPGA Classic in New Jersey, which means she is certain to be overtaken by either Ariya Jutanugarn or Ryu So-yeon, the LPGA announced. She's trying to join fellow Swede Annika Sorenstam as the only three-time victor.

Moriya Jutanugarn and Lee each shot 70.

Stacy Lewis followed an opening 67 with a 72 to drop into a tie for 19th at 3 under. Emily Tubert (Razorbacks) had a 6-over 77.

David Lingmerth, who shared the first-round lead with Dufner, walked to the first tee Friday afternoon and trailed by seven strokes. It was surprising from a guy who had amassed a five-shot lead through 36 holes.

Andrew Landry (Razorbacks) had a 68 and is 6 under. He leads the field in strokes gained on approach shots.

The three-time European Tour victor had five birdies and a bogey at Barseback.

It was the first time in almost four years - since the Bridgestone Invitational in 2013 - that Johnson failed to make a birdie. I made some nice pars and rolled in some putts.

He very quietly took only 130 shots over two days.

One shot behind Wood were Benjamin Hebert of France (70) and Renato Paratore of Italy (71) at the Barseback Gold and Country Club.
