Why the Warriors will win the NBA Finals

The 2017 NBA Finals begin tomorrow on ABC.

Good news for Cleveland fans is that LeBron is playing arguably the best basketball in his career surpassing playoff records after records.

Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant (35) celebrates against the Utah Jazz during the first quarter in game two of the second round of the 2017 NBA Playoffs at Oracle Arena. That was the Cleveland Cavaliers' comeback on the Golden State Warriors a year ago.

Tolbert also gives us his take on the upcoming Finals matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. Golden State Warriors' David West shoots during an NBA basketball practice, Wednesday, May 31, 2017, in Oakland, Calif. That's mind-boggling. We're talking the same LeBron James who, after winning two titles in Miami, returned home to get Cleveland a long-awaited title (mission accomplished), who kept the injury-ridden Cavs afloat in 2015 and found a way to race the length of the court for the miraculous blocked shot that turned last season's Game 7 Cleveland's way.

Is that enough to beat Golden State? While Cleveland is a little healthier, Golden State picked up one of the best players in the world during the off season by signing Kevin Durant. Last season they played with a seven-player lineup in numerous Finals games. This marks the third consecutive year the Cavs and Warriors have faced each other in the finals (a first in National Basketball Association history), with both teams splitting the first two matchups. "I'm excited this worked out that I could be here".

Kevin Durant: A former NBA MVP shocked the basketball world last year when he made a decision to leave his longtime team to join the Warriors who'd come within a game of winning last year's title.

If the Cleveland Cavaliers want to win back-to-back championships and beat the Golden State Warriors in two-consecutive Finals, the wine and gold will likely have to play close to ideal basketball for (at least) four games to do so.

"It's pretty intense", Warriors center Zaza Pachulia said. They played great basketball this year. "Even though I wasn't here the last couple years, talking and hearing the stories and watching the film kind of transfers me and I feel like I've been part of this team". Durant has heard so much criticism for leaving Oklahoma City and moving to Golden State last summer. Let's take a look at three keys to victory for them. But it was all worth it because of the quest for a championship.

"Just because it was so close and we didn't get the job done", Curry told me.

These two teams have established quite a rivalry over the last two finals.

Story line: The Warriors and Cavaliers make NBA history by becoming the first teams to meet in three straight NBA Finals.

Then the Cavs got their revenge a year ago when they rallied back to claim their city's first major team championship since 1964 with a Game 7 win in Oakland. "This is really the grudge match".

Of the best six players on the floor over the next two weeks, the Warriors have four of them - Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. So we can expect both guys to be playing at a high level. When the Warriors score 103 this season, they're 78-6. Now he's ready to help avenge last year's disappointment. It's not something we talk about.
