Hernandez family planning private funeral in Connecticut

As the investigation continues into Hernandez's apparent suicide, Bristol Superior Court Judge Thomas McGuire has also recently granted a request by Hernandez' former fiancee to preserve certain evidence linked to his death. Hernandez's argument arises from the notion that he earned the payments, and that the Patriots cut him immediately after he was arrested for killing Odin Lloyd, instead of waiting for the league to suspend him.

The Aaron Hernandez story came to a tragic end earlier this week when the former star tight end of the New England Patriots was found hanging in his prison cell in what has since been ruled a suicide.

Hernandez's lawyer, Jose Baez, and former agent, Brian Murphy, had both said Wednesday that they didn't think it was likely that the former Patriots tight end had killed himself. The notes were placed next to a Bible that was opened to the page containing John 3:16, according to Newsweek.

When the National Football League chose Philadelphia to host the 2017 draft, it quickly became clear one of the world's most famous movie locations would be the ideal site to hold the three-day extravaganza.

Crime Scene Service Troopers found three handwritten notes on a table each addressed to Hernandez's fiancée, his 4-year-old daughter and a close prison friend.

In the hours after Aaron Hernandez committed suicide Wednesday, authorities in MA said that the former Patriots tight end didn't leave any type of note before killing himself.

He also marked his hands and feet with red ink to imitate Christ's wounds during crucifixion.

Authorities offered few answers after Hernandez was found hanging from a bedsheet Wednesday in his cell in a maximum-security prison in MA, where he was serving a life sentence for the 2013 slaying of a onetime friend. However, he was serving a life sentence for the 2013 murder of semipro football player Odin Lloyd.

On Friday District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr. released a statement saying, "Now that the cause and manner of death have been determined, the brain will be released ... as Mr. Hernandez's family wishes". He allegedly had a longtime male lover, a friend from high school, according to a Newsweek report. "We wish to say goodbye to Aaron in a private ceremony and thank everyone in advance for affording us a measure of privacy during this hard time".
