Nintendo is working on a Mini SNES

Personally, there's a lot more things I'd like to play on the SNES rather than the NES, so when it does come out I'm hoping to get a lot more mileage out of it than I did the NES, where I ended up just playing Kirby and nothing much else.

The system, which was a tiny version of the original Nintendo system, was around for less than six months.

Nintendo is winding down distribution for the NES Classic, having explained that the machine "wasn't meant to be an ongoing, long-term product" in an April 13 statement to IGN. NES Classic Edition was only a cool novelty item that would make a great Christmas 2016 gift. Eurogamer goes so far as to say the SNES Mini's impending release is part of the reason the Mini NES was discontinued, suggesting that the company thinks only one retro console can exist on the market at a time, for some reason.

On the other hand, Nintendo recently discontinued the Mini NES despite evidence of continuing huge demand that hasn't been satisfied by the paltry supply Nintendo rolled out to stores. If Nintendo does release this system, we'll hopefully see titles like Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Super Metroid, Final Fantasy III, The Legend of Zelda: "A Link to the Past, and many more". However, most may have forgotten that the resurrection of the famed 1986 game console was expected to be done on a limited basis. But it can not be further extended since SNES Mini will be coming later this year. Rumors claim that the company may have stopped the production to force gamers to turn to the Hybrid Switch Console, Extreme Tech reported.

However, with the success of the NES Classic, I'd also guess that Nintendo is gearing up for new classic consoles, too. Now, the news outlet has revealed that Nintendo has confirmed that it will cease the production of the device but then it is yet to be known if the suspension of production will be worldwide.
